About Me
A dog’s kiss is wet and sloppy but always delivered with love. They always seem to happen when I least expect them. They make me smile. I love my little dog, and this is why she is the perfect symbol for my art store. I love art. I love looking at art and I love making art.
“Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” — Pablo Picasso
“Art should be something that liberates your soul, provokes the imagination, and encourages people to go further.” — Keith Haring
I began as an artists through photography. I always had a camera with me. My favorite shots were in nature. I’d drive around on back roads looking for things I couldn’t find in town. My dad helped me set-up a little darkroom in our basement. Exploring black and white photography, is how I fell in love with art. Over the years, my tools have evolved as I experimented with different mediums. Yet I always seem to come back to the camera. Even if it’s simply providing a reference. Exploration is critical for artists, but also, I have benefited from the knowledge of others.
I have certification in commercial photography from a school that no longer exists. I accumulated over 250 college credit hours as I bounced around America. I have a B.F.A. in Graphic Design coupled with a minor in Marketing. I’ve had the pleasure of studying with many different professors. I know, without doubt, there are many people smarter and more insightful than I will ever be. I cannot count how many times I have looked at another artist’s work and thought, I wish I thought of that.
I still enjoy looking at nature, and it often finds its way into my art. I’ve spent some time looking at the human form, but human behavior is what keeps creeping into my art as abstract concepts. Sometimes it’s odd, as human beings, we are elements of the natural world—yet we don’t always get along with nature.
I hope you enjoy my little store. This is the best way—so far—I have found to share my art with others. I hope you spend a lot of time shopping and find much that you like. Look around—then send me an email expressing your thoughts. I enjoy hearing from people after they’ve experienced my work. It is always enlightening. I so love being enlightened, don’t you?
Kiss, kiss,
Diana Meyer
